Turkiye: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met foreign ministers from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Germany, France, Britain and Italy in Istanbul on Friday as regional and European officials discussed the war in Iran and other security concerns.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of talks involving the Regional Four (R4) and the European Union's E3, alongside Italy. It marked the first collective meeting of the countries in this format.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also held talks with his counterparts from the seven countries to discuss developments in the Iran war, attacks on Saudi Arabia by Iran-backed Houthi militants, and Russia's war in Ukraine.

Türkiye warns against renewed attacks on Iran

Fidan cautioned against any renewed attack on Iran, warning that such a move would intensify tensions and widen the conflict.

He said diplomacy and dialogue were the only way to bring the war to an end.

The discussions brought together regional and European officials amid continuing concerns over the conflict in Iran, threats to Saudi Arabia and the ongoing war in Ukraine.
